12th Transmission

I tire of this ship, its crew, and its... holidays. I have no use for these toys. What is the meaning of this?

And is there nowhere I can have a proper spar? Settle for the bees again, if nothing else...

Hmnf.

[The comm clicks off. If anyone is so inclined, the weapons master can be found down in the caves, brooding, and occasionally slamming a fist or two into the walls.

As for his squeaky whale, it has been deposited safely in front of a certain medical officer's door without so much as a word on the subject.]

I want to talk to you.

Right now.

Where are you?

[identity profile] chopshopgoddess.livejournal.com 2009-11-11 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't give a shit, you tell me where you are and you tell me right now.

I will fight you Ironhide. Where?

[identity profile] prime-huntress.livejournal.com 2009-11-11 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
The field of flowers then? Nothing around to get in the way, relatively even footing, no where to hide.

[Excellent. She was beginning to worry she was getting rusty.]

Meet me there then.

[She would leave her room and make her way straight to the floor with the field of flowers. They were beautiful, but they reminded her of a time she would rather not dwell on.]

[A sparring challenge? Ripa offered this long ago, and only one person took him up on it. Needless to say, this violent alien is more than happy to oblige.]

I will spar with you. Tell me your location.

En route.

[Ripa shuts his comm off and heads down. His steps are quick and empowered, and he makes good time. When he arrives at the caves, the Sangheili does a quick scan and lets his eyes fall to rest upon Ironhide.

He's big and brutal-looking, metal all over-- but on this boat Ripa is even in height with him. And the Arbiter has his own armor to boot, so he's not terribly put off by the Autobot's appearance.

Name your terms of the spar, mech.

[Luckily for Ironhide, Ripa doesn't really care so much for formalities. Unless it's in reference to his leaders.]

We fight until one receives a serious injury, or until one successfully pins the other. I'd rather not deal with the complications of death and punishment.

[His tone is matter-of-fact but not fearful. If it's a fight to the death Ironhide wants, he'll do it, and gladly; but he doesn't see the point.]

It doesn't seem as if the bees are very combative creatures, actually, despite their natural weapons. Have you taken a look at that new race track yet?

I have several times, though I haven't actually participated in any races against other drivers seeing as it wouldn't be very much of a challenge for me and it doesn't seem like a fair proposition. [He's driven around the track a lot, though. It's nice to be able to cut his speed loose without worrying about frightening or crashing into anyone.]

It is an interesting system, able to provide racers with different terrains and assorted levels of difficulty. The reason I mention this is that one difficulty level seems well suited for training, though with a certain unavoidable amount of risk involved.

It could be interesting if any of the vehicles on board can match my speed, which might be worth checking. [He doubts it, but it might be fun if he actually did get to race sometime. ... Which might be why he's proposing something reckless.]

Well it is known as Deathrace, which I should say is self-explanatory. Wrecks seem to be more common the higher the difficulty, which becomes more dangerous depending on the track as well, so in some ways that may be less of a race and more an exercise in maneuverability. [Which sounds like a good idea.]
