12th Transmission

I tire of this ship, its crew, and its... holidays. I have no use for these toys. What is the meaning of this?

And is there nowhere I can have a proper spar? Settle for the bees again, if nothing else...

Hmnf.

[The comm clicks off. If anyone is so inclined, the weapons master can be found down in the caves, brooding, and occasionally slamming a fist or two into the walls.

As for his squeaky whale, it has been deposited safely in front of a certain medical officer's door without so much as a word on the subject.]

It usually only takes speed and a set of stasis cuffs, actually, but I'm sure I can improvise.

[Waiting patiently!]

[It's slightly possible, but Ironhide seems to have been in a mood, so Blurr wisely does not mention it. Instead, he turns to the... console thing.]

And I'm fully prepared for one whenever you're ready, Ironhide. There is a cityscape, but if we want a more hazardous track then there is also one set around a volcano which would be more unusual but I thought might be worth mentioning.

[It seems to have something to do with Halloween, and that's semi-officially one of those things that None Of Them Will Talk About.

After a moment of fast button-pressing, Blurr steps back.
] And done! [And now he's darting in. Because always ready or not, he's going to beat you at being first. 8)]

[Totally and completely off-limits. Both Halloween AND the morning after.

And inside the racing arena, there is in fact a volcano. A volcano and lava, that's already around the track, and probably a bad idea to drive into. Blurr is already waiting at the starting line, apparently unconcerned with all of this, and tosses over a
smirk.]

I'd get into position if I were you, it should start automatically counting down-- [Aaaand transform!]

Oh, I highly doubt that's going to happen, so you don't need to worry about it.

[AND THE COUNTDOWN? Three... two... one -- and they're off. From the way Blurr tears out, he too is thinking that this was an awesome idea.]

[Honestly, despite the banter and how fast he was moving now, Blurr had chosen this setting and this terrain in order to avoid a simple race. This would not be called a deathrace if it wasn't incredibly dangerous, he was sure; Ironhide might catch up to him yet.

And it doesn't help that he's had to slow down a bit. Something's apparently on fire, and not far down the track, things are starting to get concealed by smoke.

[Well, his opponent did manage to trigger a pit trap, but after almost driving straight into it and a few panicked seconds of running on AIR, he made it to the other side -- but he and the pit aren't that far ahead, and he can hear the Topkick as he stops to listen for Ironhide.

Being in robot mode is probably quieter, but after a moment he transforms back into vehicle mode and tears off, trying to see if he can get out of range of the smoke. If they could spot what the triggers looked like then they could start setting off traps on purpose.
