43rd Transmission - Video

[All the video shows is Ironhide scowling down into his comm.  He seems to have left the party, and is, instead, in his/Ratchet's room.  Propped up in bed.  Surrounded by pillows.  Oh yes, he is not a happy not-robot.]

...

I am still like this.  Why am I still like this.  It did not last this long the last time.

And in our world, you would have been equipped to better defend yourself, and would not have left me the impossible task of putting you back together.

[He's sharp in his tone, but only because he's worried about you.

He runs a finger over his bottom lip, testing the flexibility of the skin. So... strange.]

Stop doing what?

There is little point in debating the 'what ifs' of the situation. The outcome was already decided, and we have dealt with it, to the best of both our abilities at the moment.

[pokepoke]

The tissue is fascinating. It is flexible, yet... clearly capable of retaining its form. So unlike our own plating...

You should know that I already have. You act as though this is the first time I have peeled your sorry plating off the battlefield...

I am well-prepared for your... habits.

[pokepokepoke. Sorry, he's stopped paying attention. Skin is so weird.]

Then perhaps you should do it less often.

[There's no point in telling him not to do it. Like that would ever happen. Besides, it was Ironhide's strong will and fierce determination that made him... him.

He had no desire to change him.]

Oh, of course.

[He blinks, adjusting his glasses as he tries to remember what he was doing. There's a few moments of lingering thoughts, before he heads in the direction of their quarters.]

Were you looking for a reward, Ironhide?

[He says it light-heartedly, smiling to himself as he heads back to their room. He'd picked up a few more snacks for the other, this time of the less-sweet variety.

Hopefully, it would make up for his being so distracted at the party - He still was unused to not having his scanners. In his normal form, he'd have known if his companion had so much as blinked, let alone left the room.

Arriving at the door, he tests it without knocking - He doubted it would be locked.]

[He hadn't expected Ironhide to be out of bed - And he certainly did not expect his next move.

Stumbling forward, he throws an arm around the weapons master's shoulder, a muffled noise of surprise escaping his now-occupied lips.]

[Between the kiss and the traveling fingers, Ratchet found it very difficult to remember why he had intended to lecture Ironhide. Except, perhaps, for not calling him back earlier, if this was his intention.

He ran his tongue over Ironhide's lower lip, still testing the softness of the skin even now, comparing the textures - Though this was a far superior method of research, he thought.]

[The noise brings everything to a full stop, Ratchet breaking the contact almost immediately.

Ironhide may have known how to keep him from lecturing, but there were few things that could distract him from one of his comrades in pain - In fact, the only thing would be an order from Prime himself. And as their leader was not there...]

You should lie down.

If you were in pain, you should have stayed in bed.

[He shakes his head, offering a shoulder for the other to support himself, so he could escort him back to the bed.]

It may actually be good for you, being in this form. It would be far easier to set your wounds in this state - particularly with the shortage of welding tools this ship is afflicted with.
