3rd Transmission - Action
[Hello Vertiline. And how are you this fine morning? Hopefully you're not doing anything that requires your being behind the forge.
But if you are, you'll probably notice a massive black robot loading a lot of oddly glowing cubes into his arms. Along with a small collection of nails and such, pilfered from the forge itself.
His armor is battered, and pitted with holes -- the largest being on his chest. This accomplished, he proceeds to stalk back off toward his pod, the cubes carried very carefully. Every motion makes his joints creak. Once he arrives at the pod, he unceremoniously dumps the cubes inside, before stepping back out again.
Ironhide, at the end of this errand, can be found hunkered down in front of his pod, drinking out of one of the cubes, and thoughtfully watching the sunrise. Occasionally, he chews on one of the nails.
Approach?]

Approach?]
[commentlog of derpery!]
The fog. That was what we found in there.
[commentlog of derpery!]
He doesn't have his Keyblade. And neither does Aqua, or Terra! But he-- they have to do something. It's their job, and after all... they're stronger together, no matter what. Even without their Keyblades.]
I need to go after them! Where is this fog, exactly?
[commentlog of derpery!]
[He puts a hand out, to try and preemptively restrain the boy.]
You stay out of there. It took down two of our group before we could make a move.
[commentlog of derpery!]
[What did he mean by 'took down'? He can't help it, but he immediately thinks of Max. She'd been so scared, and upset... was she one of the ones that had gone? Ven can't help it, he scrambles to his feet and backs away from Ironhide.]
It's my job. I can't just sit by if people are getting hurt!
[commentlog of derpery!]
[He does snap, then. He's not shouting, not yet. But there's a rebuke in his voice all the same.]
And no one is rushing back in there without a plan.
[commentlog of derpery!]
He knows he doesn't think before getting into things. What was chasing after Terra if not that? But... there's no gravity he's ever experienced that can match the weight on his chest. He actually slouches a little.
More Unversed. Here.
He has to tell Aqua and Terra.]
But... people were hurt during the invasion the other day. What if the Unversed are causing that?
[Okay, he's not exactly sure how that would work, but it makes sense, in a bizarre sort of way. All that darkness, the negative energy... it can influence people, take them over. That's why it's so important for the worlds to remain unconnected. Even he knows that, and he's nowhere near Aqua or Terra's level.]
[commentlog of derpery!]
[A different kind of attack could mean a different kind of enemy. And the rodents hadn't spoken. They hadn't tried to kill. Just bit.]
[commentlog of derpery!]
Sometimes the Unversed can influence things. They could even change normal trees...
[In the words of the great Sam Beckett: oh boy. Rats are definitely a step up from trees.]
[commentlog of derpery!]
[Maybe it's a bit harsh, but Ironhide sees no reason to hide or gentle the truth. War is his main function, after all.]
[commentlog of derpery!]
... Is it always like this? War, I mean? All the waiting and... being powerless.
[He's not sure the word 'war' is really applicable, but then... what else would be? Holy existentialist crisis, batman.]
[commentlog of derpery!]
If you are lucky, yeah. If not... it is a lot of death, a lot of fighting. Losing your comrades.
[He huffs out a rush of air.]
Gather information, and you will be less powerless. Know your enemy before you strike.
[commentlog of derpery!]
[Honest admission is honest. But he does sit back down again.]
[commentlog of derpery!]
... and then there's Optimus. Jazz. Every other Autobot.]
You carry on. As they would want.
[commentlog of derpery!]
But it never gets any easier, does it?
[commentlog of derpery!]
No. Never does. Just... gets more familiar.
[commentlog of derpery!]
... I'm sorry.
[This has got to be a record. The longest Ventus has ever gone without a smile. GJ, DUDEBOT.]
[commentlog of derpery!]
... Not your fault.
[commentlog of derpery!]
[He tries for a little smile! Gosh this conversation got depressing in a hurry. WHAR BE DERPERY.]
But... no one should have to be familiar with that kind of feeling. I guess that's what I'm sorry about.
[commentlog of derpery!]
I am a soldier. Knew what I was getting into. No sense in moping about it.
[Take your own advice there, Arnhaid.]
[commentlog of derpery!]
[Ventus: therapist extraordinaire!]
[commentlog of derpery!]
[He says this last word with a meaningful glance at his cannons.]
[commentlog of derpery!]
I hope we can get them working again. I bet no one will mess with us then!
[commentlog of derpery!]
I will find a way. I made them. I can repair them.
[commentlog of derpery!]
Yeah! And from then on, it's smooth sailing.
[He tucks his hands behind his head and just makes with the cool.]
[commentlog of derpery!]
... We will see.
[commentlog of derpery!]
