[LOCKED TO XANTH, KAIRI, JINX - UNHACKABLE]

Do not answer this transmission with any secure information. The boy known as Xanth, and the female Kairi will meet me in the bar as soon as they receive this message. You are in danger of attack, and I am going to protect you.

But I cannot be in two places at once. Therefore, I will take you to my quarters. Only my allies know where it is. You will be safe there until the storm your friend Jinx kicked up blows over. I am Autobot, and it is my duty to protect human life. I will not allow you to come to harm while you are in my care.

Once you receive this message, respond with... eh... "Why did it stop raining?". Let me know you heard it, and are at the location.

[Ironhide doesn't respond, aside from a grunt. Then he's on his way to the bar in truck-mode.]

Some organic--one of the long-eared ones--is threatening two children. Bringing them to my quarters to look after them. You want in?

It would be difficult to avoid, considering we are currently sharing our living space - But you know that I have no problem with guests.

[Ironhide doesn't respond. He just drives to the bar, rolling up to look for someone who could fit the description of "Snowtop".]

H-- h-hello?

You one of the children the one called Jinx was looking after?

[If it's at all reassuring, the voice coming from the truck is Ironhide's. And he does... try to gentle his tone.]

Y-- yes. Yes. I-I'm, uh, X-- Xanth. S-- Snow-- Snowtop. S-Same thing.

[Ironhide grunts. Normally, he'd just have the boy crawl into the cab, but, seeing as it's too small right now...]

Get in the truck bed. I will take you to my quarters. Either myself, or Ratchet, will always be there. You will be protected.

Y-- yes, s-sir.

... Calm down, boy.

[All Spark, it's like dealing with a more nervous Sam. Ironhide starts off, back the way he came.]

I am Autobot. I am sworn to protect the humans... I will not harm you.

Th-- th-thanks. Thank-- thank you.

B-But, I, I'm... always... s-stut--tut--stuttering like this, s-s-so...

[He can't go that fast while he's on the boat, Xanth, don't worry.]

... You and that Herz boy. Quit worrying.

[A pause.]

You are not... afraid of lobsters... are you?

...um. N-No?

Good. We have a pair. They will not bother you... much.

[He eventually pulls up in front of Ratchet's room, and lowers the tailgate.]

Um-- o-okay.

[Once Xanth is clear, the truck starts to unfold. The transformation isn't as fluid as it could be, but in moment, Ironhide stands before the boy, and is working the door.]

C'mon.

[Ironhide waits until Xanth is inside before following. He's the bodyguard. No attack can come from inside, it's the hallway they have to worry about. No projectile could get through his bulk.]

You will stay here. Get Mikaela to bring you fuel, if you need it...

[Almost as soon as he's inside, C4 leaps out of nowhere onto his head, and one of the lobsters scuttles under the bed.]

... But above all, you will be safe here. I swear it.

A-And-- did... d-did you get K--Kairi y-yet?

[A grunt, and Ironhide checks his comm.]

She has not responded yet. I will get her when I hear from her.

Why did it stop raining?

[Kairi is waiting at Sergei's. Please let Sergei's be the bar he was referring to. There are too many bars on this boat.]

[And once again, the big truck heads off toward Sergei's. He doesn't take long to arrive, and he's rather difficult to miss when he pulls up.]

[Kairi looks warily at the truck.]

You're the Autobot?

I'm Kairi.

Yeah. I am Ironhide.

[If anything, the fact his voice is the same should be a giveaway.]

Climb in back. I will take you to the safe room.

Um... Okay.

[He's a truck. She definitely didn't see any trucks at that lobster party. But he's definitely the person who made the post, so she does as she's told.]

[He hauls her off toward their room without a word. He only speaks again when they arrive, and he drops his tailgate to let her out.]

Already have the boy inside.

[Kairi clambers out and heads for the door, her steps only a little uncertain.]

Thankyou. For this. All of it.

[Ironhide grunts. And then panels start to fold away off the truck. Pieces bend, and the entire thing stands up and opens the door.]

You are children. Humans. Autobots are sworn to protect your race.

[Kairi can't help but gape. She recognizes him now. He's one of the robots. She's seen him around.

It's not the same, up close. But having made up her mind already, she ignores the thrill of fear in the pit of her stomach, nods once, and walks into the room.]
