(OOC: HAVE A MEME)

Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
He's heavy, average-sized for his race (at 25'), but built far heavier than most. He has thicker limbs, broad shoulders, and an overall stocky appearance. Ironhide is built like a linebacker.

2. How old is he?
Millions of years. He was older than many by the time the war began, and when it did, that was at least several million years ago. Ironhide is ancient.

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
He carries himself well--proudly, usually marching (or limping, as the case may be) with his head high and shoulders back. Ironhide has nothing to be ashamed of, and walks accordingly. However, when he is in trouble, then his shoulders hunch up around his neck.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
He's as fit as can be, considering his career, and Ratchet's borderline mystical repair abilities. His power core timing is slightly off--something like a heart murmur in humans. His hip is a mass of scars and surgical repairs, causing him to move with a limp. One of his optics is scored and nearly melted over--it functions worse than the other, slower, less responsive. Aside from that, Ironhide is a healthy, mobile individual.

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
He's tense, always on alert for trouble, and walks with a definite limp. He tends to move slowly, purposefully. In battle, however, he becomes much more mobile, doing everything from barrel rolls to leapfrog with his cannons.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
Ironhide doesn't think of himself as attractive. However, his physical appearance isn't important to him. Function before form, he believes. He's fine with how he looks, he just doesn't believe himself to be attractive.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
His armor is black, and covered in more scars than he has bolts in his cannons. The most noticeable is the scarring over his right optic, and the rest are a network of little silver lines all over his body.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
He has no hair.

9. What color are his eyes?
Bright, glowing blue. Literally glowing.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
... He's a giant alien robot who turns into a truck, and carries heavy weaponry in his forearms.

11. What are his chief tension centers?
His arms and shoulders. Along with the lower portion of his spinal column. He carries a lot of weight, and those general areas support most of it.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
... Giant alien robot.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
... Giant alien robot.

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
... Giant alien robot.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
... Giant alien robot. Boxers

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Ironhide has a very deep, formal sort of voice. It's rough around the edges, grating on the harsh consonants, growling almost.

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
He speaks easily, with conviction. What Ironhide says, he believes in, and it comes across in the weight of his words. He's forced to speak relatively quietly for the benefit of human listeners, but has no problem outright bellowing when the need arises.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
He has a very slight accent, bordering on British to some listeners. He also rarely speaks using contractions.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
Ironhide can fluently speak any language on earth by virtue of downloading it from the "World Wide Web".

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
When Ironhide starts using contractions in his speech, it's a very good indicator that something has either upset or unsettled him greatly. Either that or he's had too much to drink.

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
Usually he's a decent speaker, purely because of how much he believes in what he says. He can have a conversation well enough, but when necessary, he will take long pauses to mull over what he wants to say. If he's going to speak, it might as well be worthwhile.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
He speaks very formally, what one might call eloquently. As said before, when he's upset, or otherwise judgmentally impaired, he becomes far less so. Personal situations tend to make him stammer--especially those involving people he cares for.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
Ironhide is what one would consider street-smart, in most cases. But where making and using weapons is concerned, he's highly skilled, and intelligent. If Autobots wrote books, he would have written several on the subject. The rest of what he knows, tactics, combat, he learned through experience. Millions of years of it.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
Socially, he needs a great deal of time to think. Something people with actual social skills seem not to understand. Which never ends well. Combat is, again, where he excels, thinking quickly, and using his surroundings to his advantage. He acts big, dumb and slow, but on the battlefield, he's quicker than he looks.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Practical, logical and pragmatic.

4. What kind of education has the character had?
Military training since he came online. Most likely a good deal of secondary training in weapons development and use.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
Blowing. Things. Up. Ironhide is weapons master for a reason. If someone can be killed with it, he knows how best to do it. He's extremely well-versed in construction and use of any kind of weaponry, and is always interested in learning more. He excels at combat, and is a halfway decent teacher, if his various students are any judge. He is a soldier through and through.

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
Difficult to say. Ironhide doesn't mind company, he's used to the presence of many others being around him, even welcoming it at times. But, on the other hand, he's also extremely private. Daily life, mundane tasks, he doesn't mind people around at all, seeking company frequently. But for personal matters, he very much prefers his privacy.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
He has a temper. A severe one on a hair trigger. His default, mode, however, is "grouch". He responds with grunts, occasionally, or annoyed huffs. He acts as if the world at large is the most irritating thing ever, and how dare it bother him. Unless something is actively bothering him, he tends to take things in stride, despite this attitude. He's just seen too much to get overexcited about everything. Though, of course, he has his Berserk Buttons.

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
New people he tends to regard with neutrality, or disdain, depending on their introduction. In new situations, Ironhide is always wary, ready for an attack or ambush.

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
Depends on the situation. He prefers to take action, rather than just sitting and watching.

10. Which is his default: fight or flight?
Fight. Always. Retreat is his last resort, and when he resorts to it, he's the last one to go.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
Very dry, occasionally nonexistent. Things randomly strike him as humorous, with very little discernible pattern, and he tends to make jokes out of the blue. Jokes which occasionally fall flat.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?
No, not really.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
Walking away from the Cybertronian armed forces, and joining up with Optimus. That's the biggest defining moment of his life. Possibly also recently, when he finally allowed himself to engage in a non-platonic relationship with another Autobot again.

14. What does he fear?
The ultimate loss of the Autobot cause. Failing his duty to Optimus, to his charges. Losing Ratchet.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
He hopes to live long enough to see the end of the war. That, somehow, there can be one last generation of Autobots who aren't made for fighting.

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
His life is a fairly open book, and he's usually willing to talk about his experiences. His biggest "issue" is something his comrades are all readily aware of, and thus he has no need to hide it from them. However, recently, his relationship to Ratchet is something he wants to keep hidden for as long as possible.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
He has no parents.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
No siblings.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
Nope.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?
The Autobots are his family. Especially those in his unit. He has a sort of hero-worship view of Optimus, regarding him as "everything" to the Autobot cause. His loyalty to Prime knows no bounds--he would do anything for his leader. Ratchet fills the role of best friend, and he can't imagine functioning without the neon medic around. Bumblebee is like a brother--the kid brother you helped raise and taught to punch the bully in the nose. Ironhide's proud of how far he's come, but isn't above shoving him around to show his affection. And then there's Sideswipe. He's the closest thing Ironhide has to a son among the Autobots.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Ratchet, by far. They met way back before the war even began, when Ratchet was doing repair work on the side of his research. But, they never really connected until after the war began, and Ironhide was in constant need of medical attention.

6. Does he have other close friends?
Yes. Back home, there was Major Lennox, Sargent Epps, and the rest of the NEST personnel. They were soldiers, Ironhide got on well with soldiers.

He didn't know Mikaela very well back home, but now he's become her guardian of sorts, which he takes very seriously. He's also taken on a similar sort of role, as far as he's concerned, with Michelangelo, and Ezio. He bitches about their situation with King, plots with Phoenix, and punches Ripa in the face a few times before getting some fuel from the Green Haired Kid, and telling Don to go ask Ratchet his five million questions.

Ah, friendship.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
He makes friends quickest with those like himself. Soldiers, and warriors. Normal people he tends to have problems with.

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?
His friends are his family.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
He's... in a relationship, of sorts, but was never married in the Cybertronian or human sense.

10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
Yes, but he lacks a spouse anyway. At least officially

11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?
His first crush, and romantic experience, was with a demolitions expert. Said expert died horribly in an accident. His latest is neon, and has sirens.

12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?
Ratchet An Autobot, patience, understanding. Someone who isn't about to try and change his ways, who understands he's always been a soldier, and knows nothing else--and is therefore willing to wait while he works through how this dating thing works. He doesn't want to be rushed. But he also wants to please.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?
He lacks any actual children. Back home, there was Sideswipe. Ironhide raised him, trained him, and ended up having to pull his shiny silver ass out of the fire when the young 'Bot fell to the robotic Dark Side. He's maintained the teacher/guardian/father figure role to the other ever since pulling him back to Team Autobot.

Recently, he's assumed the role for Mikaela, Mike, and Ezio. Ironhide likes kids, secretly. He's dealt with new recruits enough to know reasonably well how to handle them.

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?
Romantically? No.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?
... Ratchetsexual Because gender is so damned arbitrary for robots, he's probably a 6 by default. Just because they don't really have one to begin with, but most, if not all, identify as male.

16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
Sex is not something that should ever be taken lightly. It's what one does with their mate of choice, and only that mate. It's for long-term relationships, for partners, and is the ultimate expression of trust. Ironhide is painfully monogamous. It's important to him if his partner wants it to be. But he's gone so many millions of years without it, that he honestly doesn't care if he gets it or not. It's a bonus, it's not mandatory to him.

17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
He's rough, harsh. He also has a weird kink involving his cannons that probably shouldn't be mentioned. However, he'll also apologize in the morning after for any potential dents.

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?
He has no astrological sign.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?
He doesn't have a religion. The closest he'd come would be the awe Cybertronians had for the All-Spark. It was the source of all life, so of course they revered it. But for what it was--not as a god, or godlike being.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
He firmly believes in the Autobot code--in protecting the innocent, defending the weak, honor, loyalty, etc. He will not kill an innocent. However, his definition of "innocent" is a little loose--referring mostly to civilians and others not trained in combat. If he gives someone his word, he will follow through unless physically unable to do so. He steadfastly refuses to allow the code to be compromised, or to allow himself to willingly fail at something he's been assigned to.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
As far as organics go, Ironhide doesn't really care. Their belief systems mostly confuse him, and thus he ignores it. But for the Decepticons, he outright, and loudly, hates them, and their beliefs. He'll say so openly.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?
He is openly prejudiced against Decepticons. With good reason. They betrayed everything their kind stood for, and killed a good many of his friends. He has every reason to hate them, and he makes this well known. He regards humans with a slight disdain, unless they prove to him otherwise. He tends to be less vocal about this, and is willing to be swayed. At least until Galloway shows his ugly face.

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
He doesn't really have one. Currently, he's on a boat where there is no currency, and back home, there was no need for an income.

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?
His social status as Autobot Weapons Master has remained as unchanged as Ironhide himself.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
He lives in a hangar on a tiny island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, surrounded by high explosives. He adores it. The other Autobots share the space, but, honestly, Ironhide doesn't mind. They tend to give his stockpile a wide berth.

On the boat, he shares space with Ratchet, and an eccentric collection of odds and ends. Their room is just a place to rest, as spending much more time in there would drive him up a wall.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
He has no money, nor any need to purchase anything.

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?
He fights, he makes weapons, he advises on tactics, and he punches bees. He enjoys most of it, and he excels at all of it.

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?
Shooting things, making weapons, and beating the hell out of NEST's firing range.

7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
He keeps himself well-fueled, mostly at nagging orders from his medic, and regularly engages in over-energizing. He likes it, and appears to suffer no ill effects.
